    Hi all,

Here's a problem I can't get fixed. Can you help me figure out what to do?
I'm running Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2 on a freshly purchased Windows XP system.
My problem is that whenever I click a link that opens a new window in IE, whether it's a Javascript link or true HTML, the window that opens is empty and I can't view its source.

The same goes for 'real' popups (that is, the ones I don't click).

Any thoughts on what might be causing this? I've set my Security settings in IE to allows scripts, not block popups etc, but it doesn't help me any.

    Thanks for your help,

    cro

My XP Pro automatically blocks pop-ups, and there is then a little window up by address which I can click on to see it.

This is not the same as my situation.
In my case, windows _do_ pop up, but they are empty (white).

Do you have "spyware" & anti-virus software running ? Also.....you may have a hijack (web browser hijacked) problem.

Running McAfee Anti-Virus. Spyware/browser hijack seems unlikely, this problem started the minute I started using IE.

To try the easiest thing first:
    1. Go to Start>Run
    2. Type "regsvr32 /urlmon.dll" (without the quotes)
    3. Click OK or press the Enter key
    4. OK the confirmation message

If that didn't fix it, run the following commands one at a time, clicking OK or pressing the Enter key after typing each one in the Start>Run box. OK each confirmation message:
    regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
    regsvr32 Shell32.dll
    regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
    regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
    regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
