I am a new member here and hope I am in the right thread..

    My system is Windows 98

when I use IE6 it opens to a page called "Search-paga.com" and if I try going to another site it has a banner at the top of every page. Also many other problems have occurred since this started. I am a novice to all of this so if anyone can explaine this to me and what may be done I would greatly appreciate it. I am open to suggestions and questions..

    Thank you
    TexasRivers

    Hello texasrivers,

First open your control panel then open add/remove programs. See if you cant find anything listed that may relate to that address. If you see anything, remove it. After that download and run Hijackthis. Post the log here and we can tell you what you need to remove. As well get Spy Bot Search and Destroy if you don’t have it already.

here is a link to Hijackthis

    Hi texasrivers,

Are you getting lots of popups on your system? If so it more than likely due this guy C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\se.dll. You need to remove that file from your system. Sometimes it doesn’t want to go in normal mode, so what I would suggest is boot your pc into safe mode, run Hijackthis again and select the following items to be fixed.

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.1stpagehere.com/sp2.php

Thank you John I did what you said booted into safe mode and ran hijack this,, then checked the list you posted for me,,, and ran hjt again,, it took a couple of time and most of the things were gone except C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\SE.DLL,DllInstall and it is still there... I even went and tried to delete it manuelly but it said access denied... so here is the log for you to look at that I ran today before I logged in here.
