    I am using Windows 98. Everything was going just fine untill recently my Internet Explorer(version 5) started to freeze now and then. What happens is when i open IE it freezes, then when i press ctrl + alt + delete and end the task of the IE, it opens.
    This happens almost always
    Please help.

    Hi jerricho,have you tried the repair IE option.Go to Start>Settings>control panel>add and remove programs>highlight IE and internet tools>click the remove button>dialog box will pop up>put a tick in repair IE>click ok.Might also help to see your startup programs.Go to Start>Run>typein msinfo32>click ok.Click on the + sign next to software environement>click on startup programs>click edit>select all>edit >copy>and paste the page back here.

    And do some cleaning:

    Shut down Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.
    Go to Control Panel/Internet, and clear your temporary Internet Files.
    Now click on Settings/show files, and delete your cookies.
    Or, if you're running IE 6.0, delete your cookies on the Privacy tab.
    Also clear your History.

    And as Beach already said, let's have a look at your startups.
