I recently tried to upgrade IE5.5 to 6 from Windows Update and all seemed fine until the default System Restart where I received a 'missing dinstall.dll' error - on connection I was unable to to view 'any' page - contant dns sensor errors.

Any advice please.

Give your chidren these two things - one is roots and the other wings.

hello Juan...
Go to start/settings/control panel /add-remove programs
Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. then at the lower right click on (add/remove) or (install) depending on which OS you have.
Then it will ask if you want to fix it or uninstall it... try to fix it.

Savvy :)

Thank you, I will have to try it from the beginning again as I stepped back a day with PowerQuest after the error.

I shall keep your advice in mind. :)

Hey guys... I also have some problems with IE6.0... it won't let me log into my web-based email accounts...

I keep getting an "intrusion detected" notices (even if I ask to "expire page views" at login).

So I too tried to re-install IE6.0 from the Add/Remove Programs dialogue.... BUT my computer came pre-installed with IE6.0 (I'm using windows XP), so the Add/Remove IE6.0 option is not there.

So how do I start the Repair IE6.0 option if the Uninstall/Add/Remove button is not there????

Please help.

Hi Double07,

Please don't post the same problem all over the place.
This is the third one I've come across.
Just stick to your original question.

That will make it a lot simpler for everyone, including yourself.

Greetz,
