if I have Spybot, do I also need Ad-Aware?

    Along with using Spybot and AdAware... Here are two other *free* programs I would highly recommend. SpywareBlaster and SpyWare Guard. You can download them HERE . As with any security program, always make sure you update it before you run it and run it often. HTH

    The reason you want them both is that they each search in a slightly different fashion, and for different types of scumware. Ad-Aware is generally thought to be oriented more to adware, and Spybot to Spyware, hence the names. :D

    I would second the recommendation on SpyWareBlaster and SpyWareGuard; they will help you from getting infected in the first place. Ad-Aware and Spybot are remedies, not preventatives.

    If you use Internet Explorer as your browser, you should also consider switching to Mozilla Firefox or Opera; IE is full of security holes, and is why most people get infected in the first place.
