Just noticed a strange bug (after crapping myself at the fact all my templates were broken) where by if the preview pane is enabled, templates won't open. Normal documents will, but templates won't.

Viewing a document in the preview pane, then closing PP will leave WINWORD as a running process in task manager, and until that process is manually killed the templates won't open. I can right click and select 'open' (for editing) but can't get a new document from the template until the process is killed.

What could cause this wierdness? I never actually use the PP, so it's a fairly avoidable issue, but I have a colleague who occasionally uses this computer and is prone to clicking strange buttons while trying to change the order of things (one of those button mashing adventures being how this all started). She couldn't do any statements yesterday because of this bug!

Any and all idea are welcome!
