    Hi,
I would appreciate information on how to take apart this laptop, to clean inside and replace the hard disk, which seems dead.

This is the same laptop made by Packard Bell and also NEC.

Thanks very much for any info or link to information (...could not find anything on the packard bell / nec sites on how to take it apart).

You don't need to take apart the laptop to replace the hard drive.
If you look at the bottom there should be two panels which cover the drive and ram sticks, the larger of the two should cover the drive.

    Hi,
The laptop has got only one cover in the back, on top of the memory and the wireless adapter.

There is no separate cover, at the back or the sides, to access the hard disk (as far as I can tell).

    Thanks for your reply.
