iInternet explorer problem

    Hi, I have done something on my pc and now every time I open Internet Explorer I get this message unless I open it with addons disabled:-
    Cannot find 'file///C:/program%20files/AOL%20toolbar/welcome.html' Make sure path or internet address is correct

    this is after uninstaling Norton go back, save and restore & internet security
    any addvise?

    change your hompage. Right click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and choose properties then change your homepage.

    had already tried that, but still the same result, when I use another user profile on pc it starts up alright. would an uninstal reinstal solve the problem?

    go to start button select run type regedit hit ok navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main on the right window pane look for "start page" double click on that and erase any value data then hit ok

    Thanks for the quick reply, I will try this as soon as I get back to the home pc and let you know if it worked..Fingers crossed

    i would also check for the AOL toolbar in add/remove programs and uninstall it. It seems its not compatible with your version of Internet Explorer I assume your using IE7

    I would suggest uninstalling it. If you want to use a toolbar i would suggest using Google Toolbar. AOL seems a nightmare for anything.
