I keep getting this illegal act box with the info that there is an error in Kernel32.dll. Should I delete Kernel32.dll, and then put in my startup disk and pick up a new Kernel32.dll? Errr--what else can I do to get rid of the bad kernel?
Thank u 4 whatever help u can give. Sometimes the box won't close, and so I've learned to drag it almost out of sight, but recently I've also been picking up more blue screens and my beloved machine seems to be slowing down and crashing more frequently.

Thanks

Don't try and delete it - Kernel32.dll errors are usualy caused by some other progam accessing Kernel32

What is the full and exact error message

If you post your startup list we may be able to spot something

Please post your startup list by doing the following :-

Please go here and download startuplist 1.5 :-

http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/startuplist15.zip

Download to any folder or your desktop
Unzip the zipfile
Double click the exe file
go to Edit - select all - copy - and paste the results in a new post here

Yuo don't need this :-

http://allentech.net/parasite/WurldMedia.html

or this

http://www.safersite.com/PestInfo/A/Aureate_Spy.asp

These websites are just for information

spybot will get rid of these and others

I see you have Adaware - this has not been updated for 4 months and will not be untill the new version comes out in february

Please Download and install SpyBot,

http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/spybot11r3.exe

click the online tab to search for and download the updates, then shut down and relaunch SpyBot.

Go to the Settings tab > File Sets, and uncheck 'System Internals' and 'Tracks' .
These aren't needed for our present purpose, and you can always experiment with them later on.

Finally, after closing down Internet Explorer, click 'Check for problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds 'Fix selected problems'

you may have to run spybot more than once to clear everything

Hi xico

I've ammended the link above - it now works

for some reason the link had been changed

it used to be spybot11r3.exe

they inserted "sd" spybotsd11r3.exe

now they have taken the "sd" out again spybot11r3.exe

I would have PM'd you but you are not set up to receive PM's

I won't know for awhile, I suppose; but it certainly looks like the problem and 116 others have been corrected. I'll be running Spybot regularly. What an incredible program. Wow! Thank you, Steam. Your help is greatly appreciated. I mean, GREATLY appreciated. I hope you (and Kolla) have a really nice day.
