Hello
I am an idiot who decided installing a new CPU (i9 9900K) and a new CPU cooler (iCue H100i RGB PRO XT) would be easy enough to do without needing a specialist to help me!
I was wrong. This thing is birked. As I moved recently I don't have the original PSU box with all the cables nor the motherboard with those cables either. Just the ones already in my PC. So I unhooked a USB header to put in the new CPU cooler, pulled a SATA Power off one my HDD's and placed as instructed the CPU cooler into the case, installed the new i9, and I didn't get fan-spin. In fact when I flicked the rear power switch, what normally happens is the RGB flashes on and I hit the power button and it all turns on. What happened this time was, I flicked the power on and nothing would happen, then off and everything would surge with power. fan-spin, lights, everything. For about half a second and then it cut out. Front Power button doing absolutely nothing
At this point I have tried every combination of the swapped items present. Including the original set-up with no cooler just Intel's stock cooler, as well as the original CPU (that's where I'm at now)
So here's the speclist as it stands last I turned it on and it worked:
Gigabyte Aeorus Z370 Ultra Gaming 7 (Bios F16b)
i7 8700K Intel CPU
4x DDR4 HyperX 4 GB RAM
2x Gigabyte GTX 1080 (no SLI as the cable didn't show up till today)
EVO 960 Samsung M.2 NVME SSD 500 GB (Boot disk)
And the new parts:
LINKUP SLI Cable
i9 9900K
iCue H100i RGB PRO XT
That's it. I can provide pictures of the inside of this thing as it stands. On the original i7, but it will not boot at all.
