It will pop up on screen without doing anything, or when launching firefox, it pops up, I have to x out of it 3 times for it to stop popping up, but will comeback within a few minutes.

Can you capture a screen shot of it?

Hit "print screen" which will copy it to your clipboard.

Open MS Paint and paste the image there. Save it and upload it here as an attachment.

Isn't it funny how that works, you find help for a problem, and the problem won't show itself till the help is gone

The exact message I get is at the original post, I will have to get the pic of problem tonight, as I am on my work laptop right now, and not at home, but basically, here is the deal leading up to this event. I had installed a radeon 9550 graphics card and a new monitor, was having trouble, and still am getting directx 9.0c to load properly. Anyway, the card is loaded from what I can tell correctly even though the diagnosis says I'm missing a driver, ATI site says I need framework.net to download, so that's what I have done, but the diagnosis still says it's not there. I cleaned out my D drive and cleared some files from the C drive and transfered files to the H drive all seemed ok, but now I get the window that pops up with the letters and number I cut and pasted above. There is nothing that I can tell that activates the window to pop up, I can shut everything down and leave the desktop running, come back 30 mnutes later, and there is the pop up error on screen.......I hope this helps, I will capture a shot of the error tonight, sorry I don't have it for you right now.....Thank you

Go to Start - Run - type in devmgmt.msc and click OK. See if there is anything there that has an alert beside it.

Also, Start - run - type in eventvwr.msc and click OK. Check under "application" and "system" to see if there are any errors listed there with a red X that may correspond to these events. If so, please open them and click on the icon that looks like two little pieces of paper to copy them and paste them here.

Id have to wonder what "program" is popping up when this thing comes up?
I guess the screen shot will show us the program name. But if you think about it, look and see what program it is.
It looks like something is opening an executable in wordpad. Perhaps someone has played a joke on you, eh?

    hehe
