Try cycling. Sit-ups and push-ups always work too.

My oldest daughter bought a ball like that after having her last child (she has five) and it has really helped her get in shape. She said it kept her interest to cause her's came with a video. She doesn't like walking and jogging. The exercises ACA mentioned are good too. Also with summer right around the corner, swimming is a good exercise too. And this may make you faint...but less chocolate.:D:eek:

How about laying off the chocolate? :D:p;)

OK, since that's not an option, power walking is good and easy for most to do without much risk of injury. Just walk as fast as you can without breaking into a.........jog (thought I was going to say sweat, huh?) :D

I congratulate you on quitting smoking. (y) I've been there and done that and know it's not easy. :)

    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! don't eat cigarettes:D:p:eek:

My dad smoked and gave it up...was hard but he never regretted it. Try to make the things you munch on less calorie/low fat snacks. I know they aren't as good as kitkats but that might help too.;)

Stop eating ;) Or....if you want to eat, chew gum or make a smoothie.

Also, yes, congratulations on quitting smoking.

Cycling is a fantastic exercise for burning off fat. Situps, not so much. What sit ups will do is increase the muscle mass though but until the fat is lost the waist will increase in size.

Hey, Donna! Congratulations on giving up the smokes! Your lungs will thank you! (y)

Don't reach for food.... Yep! I'm on this side of it so I can say that! Easy for me! I don't smoke and I don't need food like I once did as a crutch! Look for healthy choices if you want to munch out! Keep cut up Fruits, Vegetables, Low-fat low-cal yogurts on hand. Drink lots of water too! Eat regular meals and snacks throughout the day!

Keep your mind busy! Read a book, a magazine, the paper! Get a hobby or keep up a long forgotten one! Hopefully one where you use your hands and mind!

Try Isometrics! Suck that tummy in and hold it while breathing in and out normally!

Above all else.... Smile! If you do have a temporary weight gain.... eventually you will get rid of it once you set your mind to it! :D

crunches are great for tightening up your abs. I dont have that small ball that Bea linked to but I do have a pilates ball. Here is a great exercise:

Lay on your back with the ball between your feet..pick up your feet and grab the ball with your hands then lay flat, bringing a ball over your head. Then bring your hands and feet up again and grab the ball with your feet and lower the ball to the floor and then go back up again and grab it with your hands.....the motion is just like touching your toes while laying down, only you are passing a ball back and forth (hope I explained it properly)

My trainer showed me this exercise. Trust me....it works!! Its a part of a tailored routine created by the owner of my gym called "Butt and Gut" that targets your stomach, rump and thighs. You can do it at home, even if you dont have a pilates ball.

    hope this helps. :)
