I got a samsung syncmaster 192n monitor in December - all seemed well until I had to replace a hard drive in February.
Guessing - about 20% of the time I get a "video mode not supported" message in a floating box on a black screen when I try to reboot.
I changed the screen size to the recommened size for this monitor back in December.
What can I do to stop this?
    Thank you.

Have you tried changing your refresh rate?

Try either "Adaptor default" or "Optimal"

It's set on optimal now - I'll change it to Adaptor Default to see if that helps - Those are my only two options (as I'm sure you know :D )

    Thanks again ;)

Sometimes you have to change to Adaptor default and then back to Optimal after rebooting...

    Thanks, Brush,
After I changed your sig line is about 10 times bigger :D
I'll reboot and give it a shot - and will know, I guess, when it stops doing this :D
I love computers and their inconsistencies, NOT :D

Well, I did all that and now it's happening again. :(
Does anyone have any other ideas?
    Thanks.
