How can I make something like the image below smaller? Right now its an animated gif but it is 807 KB. Kinda big and would like to figure out how to make it smaller yet make it the same type of look. Everything is the same except the image in the opening. That changes each time.

By deleting the even Blend frames .. You will cut the gif file size down to 336KB .. (from 807KB)
and eliminate the "jumps" when blending .. like so ..

Another thing you might try is to Crop the image to just the animation ... like the left side 620x150 ..
Then append a still gif (the right side) to your web to finish the web header.
This should cut another ~50K off the file size(s)

You'll have to move the text .. Something like attached ..

    Thank you for that information.

I am using PS4. The final size needs to be 912px × 150px.

I think another way to have it smaller would be make the whole gray and white text as one layer. Then just have the actual image change in the center instead of the still part changing each time too. Understand what I mean?

I just didnt know if there is a way to make this image stay small. We host about 10 events a year and we plan to add images each time.

I think another way to have it smaller would be make the whole gray and white text as one layer.

I don't think this will help .. The group is merged when animated.
Maybe the whole page header can be made smaller .. But this won't gain as much size space as you need.

We host about 10 events a year and we plan to add images each time.
Yea ... Growth can be a problem :D
My first thought is that the size of the pics are too small .. And the viewers might want to see it larger.
How bout just the last 5 events for a preview .. And links to the bigger photos organized by year ???

I'm not a web designer ... But I have the same problem on a site.
I link to Picasa web albums (in Thumbnails) .. And let someone else worry about it :D
Also link to other html pages .. To keep the front page small and fast loading.

I was just playing with resizing and I saw several problems .. One was the height difference.
I'm missing your fonts .. not sure what problems this is causing me.
Pennmustanges.com is rotated off horizontal .. And the banner behind is blurred.
I think the window to the pics can be cleaned up a little and the "dirt" on the insides of the window need cleaned.
Several other things might need cleaned up after downsizing ... Some, I'm just being picky about :D

Hopefully .. a web designer will jump in with some growth/size solutions.
Can you Email me the fonts ???

Even if you crop to just the window .. and limit the frames to 8 .. (to get a file size I can attach here)
The file size will still be ~ 270KB .. as attached.

I don't know anything about flash .. but I'm thinking this would be a good place for it ..
Something that can be loading as it's needed ???

    Here's the Photoshop psd I'm playing with @1.5MB ...
I've tried to make several improvements at the reduced size.

Put that latest one up but adjusted the time to 5 seconds. I will just have to start deleting old ones. 313k is better than 809k.

You might want to split the animated Window from the Mustang ... appended as a still gif ..
This might save about a 1 sec load time on a dialup .. or ~~ equal to one slide.

There was a texture difference from the old header to the page ... I see it's gone now (y)

Whatcha think about a Picasa Web Album LINK where you could post more pictures of each event ??
The next picture is loading while your viewing the current .... It's free
