Hi, last night I transferred about 100 photos for a college project from 2 CompactFlash cards to a new folder in My Pictures. I started rotating some of them one by one, and I rotated one of them accidently. So I pressed Ctrl+Z to undo (I realise now this shortcut wouldn't have worked but I am used to using it in Photoshop & Word), and suddenly the screen went back to My Pictures. I tried to get back into the folder but it was gone - just vanished. I have manually searched through My Pictures, My Documents & Desktop, and ran a thorough computer search but they seem to have disappeared. I have the folder name (People's Park), the image names (eg. IMG_3651) and the date created (30-09-09), but according to the computer there was nothing at all created or edited yesterday. I tried broadening the search to all files created yesterday, but no luck either. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened please?
I have Vista basic and use Avast Anti-virus 4.8.
    Thanks,
    Linda

These images will have the dates that they were made, not the date that your copied them to your system.

Your "Ctrl-Z" action may have undone the copying of the files, so they are not there. You will need to recopy them to your hard drive.

Also note, that Vista Basic is the bottom of the line version and does not contain 100% of Windows Vista OS. It is a stripped down version to be used on the very low end hardware.

The photos were taken yesterday ie. the same day they were transferred to my laptop.
I can't recopy them as they were deleted from the CompactFlash cards to free up space - hence this post.
