    Hi,

I have been trying to import my Outlook 2007 contacts to my Hotmail account.

I have exported a copy of my contacts from MS Outlook 2007 to a .csv file. But when in Hotmail I am unable to import the .csv file to my Hotmail contacts list.

I have followed the online steps for doing this and still nothing.

Is Outlook 2007 compatible with Windows Live Hotmail?

And does anyone have any ideas on how to overcome this problem?

    Thanks,

    watty.

Do you mean Hotmail webmail, or the program Windows Live Mail?

Webmail, log into your mail account, in the upper right, select the options drop down, then select more options, scroll down to Customize contacts, select Import contacts.

    Happy New Year to you.

Sorry, It's my Hotmail webmail account.

I have tried the route suggested, but once I 'browse' and locate the .csv file for import, when I click import after step 3 I get a "There was a problem importing your contacts" message.

I have been trying for the last couple of days.

At step 1 I have exported my Outlook contacts to a .csv file on my desktop.
At step 2 I have checked the MS Outlook (using .csv) box
At step 3 I have located the file on my desktop
And then the error message when I go to import...

I am pretty confident that my .csv is ok?
I am running Windows 7 on my desktop, could that be a reason for the error?

I am kind of stuck, as I am sure I haven't made any glaring errors.

Put the csv file in a folder you make on the C drive, try to import it from there.

Hmmmm, no offense, but do you highlight the csv file before you hit import.

No offence taken, but yes I have ensured that the file to be imported is highlighted.

It is done at step 3 when you have to browse for the file that you want to import, unless I am making a glaring error?

What service did you select to Import from?, I used Outlook Express and selected my csv file from and it imported successfully.

I have been trying to Import from Outlook, but I have also tried the Express option as well.

It appears that my Contacts are temporarily unavailable - or so the error message that I am now getting reports!! But I am not sure why? Nor how to make them available?
