I had to reinstall Windows XP due to a software problem. In my PC I have 3 HD's. Only 2 show up in "MY Computer". In the bios under boot > hard drives I see 3 HD's and the one not showing up in "My Computer" is SATA150 tx2plus.

Of course that's where my important backed up data is. :(

My MOBO is an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe and when I went to install the drivers on the ASUS CD called "Intel
application accelerator driver" I got the message "incompatible hardware". "This software is not supported on this chipset".

I'm at a loss as what to do. I built this PC about 5 or 6 years ago but it's ran so smoothly all this time I'm kind of out of the computer repair game.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Dont know if this link will stick.
If not, select your hard ware and OS,then expand IDE.
Download the Promise FastTrak 378 ATA Driver V1.00.1.30
Promise FastTrak 378 ATA Driver V1.00.1.30 for Windows NT4.0/98/ME/2000/XP
Version V1.00.1.30
That should install the sata drivers.
Sounds like you not using a raid array.

Thank you leroys1000. I did download those drivers but I am pretty sure they are on the disk I have here that came with the MOBO.

My problem now is how do I install them.

It's not a typical .exe file with an installer.

Here is the "Read Me" file that came with the download.

Probably need to go to add/remove hardware and
use the have disk option, then browse to the location of
the driver file.
Might check the device manager and see if there is
unidenified hardware there and install from there.

I was able to get back most of my data by using EASEUS data recovery wizard. Thanks for the help folks.
