I'm trying to import emails currently in Outlook Express into Netscape Communicator 4.73. Here are the steps I've taken so far:
    1. Click "File"
    2. Click "Import"
    3. Select "Outlook Express" from list
    4. Click "Next"
    5. Browse for Outlook Express mailboxes

Here's the problem: it only searches for *.mbx files. However, my Outlook mail files are *.dbx files.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Are you sure you can't click on any arrow and change the search criteria? Sometimes it even allows "All files" and then you just find the proper one.

Unfortunately, the drop-down box doesn't include an "All files" option.

    Oh found this -

    http://www.ufaq.org/commonly/oemail.html Look under alternative methods...

It shows how to convert from dbx to eml and from eml to a netscape supported file.

I would backup your dbx's before running this though.
