When I try to burn a data disk in Windows Photo Gallery, I get a message that says, "You don't have a disk drive capable of burning files to cd or dvd drive.

I am using Vista. I have already tried several things and have concluded that the problem is my "IMAPI CD burning service is missing. It is not turned off, it is not there.

Can anyone tell me where I can go to download it or get it back?
Thanks

Firstly, the "IMAPI CD burning" feature of Windows Vista does not run as a Service; that service is found only in Windows XP.
In Windows Vista, CD burning is made possible by a DLL file.

Try the fix here: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems
OK...you were right. I found that. Any idea why I can't burn cds? I have checked all the drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the cd/dvd recorder and its like it isn't recognized by vista as a recorder.
