I have a scan 3xs LG151 laptop which has an in built camera. For the first time since getting it (about 9 months) I have tried to use a program requiring the camera but it cant be detected. I went to device manager and apparently there is no imaging device built into my computer despite the fact that I can see it exits.

I'm running 64 bit. No it isn't me. I don't even have an "unknown device" in device manager.

    Is it Windows 8.1 ?

Can't find much online for your laptop or your particular problem. Did you get any CD/DVD's with it that might have the web-cam driver included ?

In Device manager is there a Usb device that could be the webcam ? Any Unknown devices ? Any with a ! or ? character next to them ?

If there is something there right-click it then click Properties, Details Tab, use the dropdown to select Hardware Ids and post the top line in your next reply.

Without some sort of ID for the webcam I don't see a way of finding the right driver.
