inconsistent dsl speed

okay well my dsl is sucking. lol i have a wireless router and it seemed to work fine before. but now i have high packetloss and cant play some online games because of it. and when i go to a website itll stop for like 5 seconds then start recieving again and go real fast, but it just is very inconsistent and annoying, anyway i can change this? it just... keeps stopping recieving data, then starts again on and off aaaaaaah crazy :(

264.7 kilobits per second seems a little slow? but idk, sometimes i can download stuff at 42kb/s average so idk is that close to right? im konfuzed lol nice spelling

309.1 kilobits per second is my speed, its so frickin inconsistent... lol oh well i guess thats all i get then, i just want it to be stable and like when i have voice conversations... it jumps because the connection stops on and off... idk if that optimiser thing fixed it, guess i should check

aah, lol forgot to restart... and now i have my maximum tests per hour... i hope it changes right now, cuz it just changed to 11:00 lol... so idk if it did anything yet... soo impatient!

Not much in there other than a lot on startup. You may want to try the router settings or hook the pc up directly for a minute and check the speed like that then you know for sure where the trouble lies.

Remove the following.

yeah so i just dont want it to keep stalling because that ruins voice convos or webcam convos... everything else can be worked on later... so any help there?

hey who is your DSL provider , first tyr removing the wireless and do ping test and see if you are loosing as many packets as before if you are not and you still experinencing the same exact problem then it could actually be the ISP ;you may want to get in contact with them so they can run some test on the line check the packets and see if there are dropping anything at the Dslam

yeah my dsl provider is sbc yahoo... im really confused at the moment, i was lookin something up about a 384 plan and a 1.5 meg plan, and yeah... they cost the same? maybe im getting the 384... that sucks... but still this stalling is really annoying...
