Grrrrrrrr trying to find anything on compaq's site is enough to drive me over the edge. Absolotely nothing. Only thin I can say is there are no jumpers for increasing it. If there isn't an option in the bios to increase if I am afraid you can't. To enter the bios on a compaq reboot Press F10 when square in top RH corner of screen.

    hey there

i had a Compaq before. i'm not sure if it's the same exact way.

    so, here goes...

1 turn on your pc or restart.
2 while the light is flashing at the upper right of the dark screen w/ the red Compaq logo, press F10 (BrianF is right about that)
3 use the up or down arrow keys to select English, then press Enter
4 at the Compaq Computer Corporation Setup Utility screen, use the right arrow key to select the Advanced menu.
5 at the Advanced menu, use the down arrow key to select Bus Options
6 at the Bus Options window, use the down arrow key to move the pointer next to 4MB on the Video Memory Size line.
7 use either the left or right arrow key to change the setting on the Video Memory Size line to 8MB or higher.
8 press F10 to accept the change
9 at the Compaq Computer Corporation Setup Utility screen, use the left arrow key to highlight the Main menu.
10 at the Main menu, use the down arrow key to highlight Save Changes and Exit, then press Enter
11 at the Save Changes and Exit window, press F10. the computer restarts and makes the Video Memory change.

    whew...what a workout in typing
