index DAt file

    hi, i was wondering if any one could help me. i have an index DAT file in my cookies file. i wont delete and says it is in use by another programme. is this normal. with my old computer i hada virus and it the same file butthere were other dat files that multiplies, i think there was a nt user file too. ive ran avg and it can not find any viruses. is there and anti virus proagrammes that any one can recommend

    It's normal.

    It's a file that is used to provide faster access to cookies within that folder. IE an index.

    There is also one in \History and \Tempoary Internet Files
