go to here and download 'Hijack This!' self installer. Save it to the desktop or other suitable place. DO NOT just press run from the website Double click on the file and it will install to C:\program files\hijackthis and create an entry in the start menu and an optional shortcut on desktop.
Click on the entry in start menu or on the desktop to run HijackThis
Click the "Scan" button, when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.
Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.
It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required,
so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

first

Download haxfix.exe.
Save it to your desktop.
Double click on haxfix.exe to install haxfix. (standard installation path is c:\program Files)
When the installation is completed, make sure that the checkmark "Launch HaxFix" is placed.
A red "dos window" (dos box) will open.
This message will appear:
Insert the haxdoor notify subkey without the numbers,
and then press enter:
At this point please type the following: winm
Press Enter to continue with the fix.

If an infection is found, you'll get a message to close all other open windows.
Close them, except the red dos window from haxfix and press Enter.
The computer will reboot.

After reboot, a new red dos window will open (HaxFix - cleaningbat).
This message will appear:
Insert the haxdoor notify subkey without the numbers again,
and then press enter:
At this point please type the following: winm
Press Enter to continue with the fix.
When the red dos window closes, the fix is ready.
Post the contents of the logfile c:\haxfix.txt along with a new hijackthislog.

there will be a lot more to clear up so be ready for it

in fact once it has rebooted after the above fix do this

Download pocket killbox from http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/killbox.exe & put it on the desktop where you can find it easily

Run hijackthis, put a tick in the box beside these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

F3 - REG:win.ini: run=C:\WINDOWS\inet20009\services.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winupdates] C:\Program Files\winupdates\winupdates.exe /auto
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [] winlog.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsupdater] C:\Program Files\winsupdater\winsupdater.exe /auto
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Kernel32] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Kernel32.win
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Israfel] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Israfel.vbs
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [] winlog.exe
O7 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winm32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winm32.dll
O21 - SSODL: fLHFhlLlBRZ - {A403187E-0EA9-B2D4-D88F-135C9B978F11} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hherq.dll
O23 - Service: Performance True Type Fonts (PerfFont) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\perfont.exe

now Start killbox, go to options on the top bar and make sure remove directories is enabled and remove duplicates is UNCHECKED paste the first file listed below into the full pathname and file to delete box

The file name will appear in the window, select delete on reboot , press the red X button, say yes to the prompt and NOto reboot now then repeat for each file in turn

[Note: Killbox makes backups of all deleted files & folders in a folder called C:\!killbox ] If Killbox tells you any files are missing don't worry but make a note and let us know in your next reply

C:\DOCUME~1\SAMUEL~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\yuuzeguz.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\perfont.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\hherq.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winm32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Israfel.vbs
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Kernel32.win
C:\Program Files\winsupdater\winsupdater.exe
C:\WINDOWS\inet20009\services.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlog.exe

Then on killbox top bar press tools/delete temp files, in the pop up box in the NT section select temp & temp internet & cookies only and in the 9x section select c:\windows\temp & c:\temp then on the drop down user account box, select your account, then repeat for every user account on the computer

Also, you have no Windows service packs installed, I mentioned that in your other thread which I have closed.

Hello and thank you for your reply...I was wondering to avoid all of the long process of removing all of this crap if I could just do a fresh install of XP and delete my partition. Would this work?
