Hey All I'm new to this forum, but I have a few questions.

I recently just purchased the Audio Technica ATR-6550. Great Looking Shotgun Mic. But, sadly, the sound volume is poor. I am running it straight to a computer.

I already tried all the methods of increasing audio via Windows itself, and that didn't help. Also, I Amplified this in Audacity, and that produced an extreme amount of feedback, and I don't want that. I also tried the Noise Removal in Audacity and that didn't help either. The little HD-DV camcorder I'm using (Insignia HD Camcorder, piece of crap, but my Sony 500$ HD broke) does not have a microphone input, and I don't know if there is any way possible I can add one (doubt it) or just get a better volumed sound in my film.

If there is anything possible you can do, please help. Or I just wasted 50$ on this mic. Also I have checked out the Kodak Zi8, but I really don't want to buy another camera with the Insignia lying around. And I can't return it, it's been a whole year.

    Thanks guys!
