Hi there,

I found an old thread about this particular problem and I killed all the background processes that it said to, but that just stopped the installation -- the installation never finished. Is there a way to get past this problem AND finish my installation??

I'm on Windows 8, 64-bit operating system. To be honest I have wondered if it is either of these features that's making it impossible for me to install my PSP. (This is a brand new computer... only a few days old.)

You need at least PSP X5 to run on Windows 8. v9 was compatible with Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista.

PSP X4 will work upto Windows 7 32/64 bit.

Jasc PSP9 is stated to run with Windows 98 thru XP. I successfully loaded it and used it with Windows7 32-bit with no problems whatsoever. (I still use it with Windows7 for Animation Shop mainly.) Anyway, I've not tried it with 64-bit Windows7 or with Windows 8. I would guess that might be where the problem is.
