    Hi All,

I had a problem that is still unresolved about a foul-up in the spooler of my hp photosmart 8150. While trying to follow the leads of all you good guys in the group, I deleted my printer thinking I would load it again and maybe windows would get the driver for me. But I can't add the printer now. So I can't continue trying to solve the problem. I know this should be simple but I can't proceed. I think if one of you could give me your best shot, I can try it and report to you if I continue to strikeout. thanks, Frank

What happened exactly when you tried to run the printer installer software off the CD ? Why are you saying you can't add the printer?

That's a very old printer which has no software driver package for Windows 10 64-bit.
The last software driver package for it appears to be for Windows XP and is dated 2004.

    Not to change the subject:
You should get rid of Avast Antivirus and stick with Windows 10's built-in antivirus - Windows Defender Antivirus.
Windows 10 doesn't do well in some computers that have a third-party antivirus installed.

It doesn't give me an option to add the printer I want. see screenshot. I click "next" and it just spins and goes nowhere thanks, Frank

Flavalee, You've been my lifesaver several times but I think you are wrong this time. I know I got some kind of HP universal driver a few years ago, definitely after 2004. Any ideas on this? Or how can I find it on my PC? It should still be there. thanks for the AV suggestion.
    best, Frank

These are the universal print drivers that are listed in the webpage link in post #7.
I'm not sure which one your very old printer needs, or how well it will work with Windows 10.
    Good luck.
