    Hi,
In the military we use a program called PureEdge to open certain files. I have a previous edition, and am unable to install the new version without taking out all the old files. It will not do it automatically, so I have to do it manually. I tried the Add/Delete programs, removed the files in the C drive, but when I tried to install the new program, it says that the old version is still present. "You have a previous version of the PureEdge Viewer 6.5 installed on your computer. You must uninstall this previous version before installing a newer one." What have I missed in deleting these programs.
    Thanks.

The software can look in a few places to see if its been installed one is in the Registry
    \HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall .

The keys are cryptic in there but looking at the 'values' you may be able to find and delete the key. Be sure and back up the registry before messing around in there.
