If I install a newer version of Word, will I still be able to access my old Word files?

Thanks.

Yes, you will be able to open files created with previous editions of Word. However, if you create new Word files using Word 2003, previous editions may not be able to utilize all the features of the documents that may be implemented in Word 2003. According to Microsoft's website:

Backward compatibility between Office 2003 Editions, Office XP, Office 2000, and Office 97 (with the exception of Access 97) lets users of all four versions seamlessly share documents. Access 2003 uses the Access 2000 file format by default.
