I have motherboards that allows for 2 CPU's to be installed. I've had these PC's for around 4 years now and they are still going strong, but I think that eventually, I may have to either upgrade to a faster PC or upgrade these PC's and take advantage of the dual CPU capability. I've never installed a CPU before. Do I need to get the same exact CPU for the 2nd slot? These are DELL Workstations that are running Intel Xeon CPU's. One is 2.8GHz anf the other is a 3.20Ghz.

How does a 2nd CPU improve the operaation of the PC? I run a lot of graphic software for my work and as new software comes out, it tends to bog my system with program files and slows it down some. I've recently upgraded the RAM to 1.5GB and that helped a bit.

    THanks.
