Hi there
I am having trouble installing a USB HSDPA/3G modem (Huawei E220) on my PC. In theory, when I plug it in a USB port, it should autorun installation etc as a plug and play device. However, it does not, and my device manager indicates that a new CD ROM drive and USB mass storage device have been added when I plug it in, but not a 3G modem. Neither the "cd rom drive" nor the "mass storage device" can be opened. I tried unsuccessfully to uninstall one of them at a time in device manager. If I try to "safely remove hardware", before unplugging the modem, nothing happens (hour-glass cursor) and Task Manager shows it as "not responding". I am running on Windows XP.
The weird thing is that it installed on my laptop, no problem. Aaaaargh!
Please help.
Thanks
