    Hi All,

Here is my problem. I have Windows 7 64 bit and so does my brother. I am connecting to his box via Windows Remote Assistance and when I try to install new programs, i.e. Office, Firefox, etc I get a black screen with a pause icon for a few minutes then the screen is normal like nothing happened but nothing got installed. Windows actually "blocked" the installation. I think that the problem is that Windows 7 has security settings which only let an administrator install programs therefore I cannot go through with the install as I am logged on remotely. Is there a setting which I can disable on his machine to allow me to install programs remotely with not having to run it as admin or getting the pause button?

Did you try right clicking on the install file and clicking Run As Administrator. If he is running as a standard user it will give you the option to input the credentials for a user that has administrator privileges. If you don't know the credentials for a user that has administrator access then you are basically out of luck. We can't help you bypass the administrator credentials as it is against forum rules.
