    I just now received Win XP and want to install. Can I overwrite Win 98 without
    loosing any files? I have a 100mb zip drive, but I can forsee a lot of time involved.
    Whats the best way to uninstall Win 98, if thats what I have to do?
    Thanks;

    You'll need to read the instalation manual it comes with. If WinXP is a full version you can only install it on a Clean HDD. If it's an upgrade it's fine to over-write Win98. You will need to first scan with your anti-virus freshly updated set to scan All Files then, uninstall your anti-virus then restart your computer for the WinXP upgrade version before the upgrade. Iomega makes a driver you can download that works correctly with WinXP if it's a parallel port Zip drive. USB Zip drives require no driver upgrade.
