Hi everyone, hope you can help?
I have tried to reformat my hard drive. well I think I did . when i load the boot disk and run fdisk it shows a drive and it seems to be already potitioned, but Im sure that I did wipe the petition first then formatted .I succesfully transferred system information. and now when i try to load in safe mode it tells me that windows by passing your startup files. then brings me to a black screen reading microsoft (R) windows 98
I hope I made sense of this mess. What Now ????

It sounds like you've successfully formatted your hard drive, and that you ran a sys command to transfer the files necessary to boot over to your C: drive (thus eliminating the need for a boot disk, just to access the C drive).

Now all you need to do is boot with your Windows 98 boot disk. Then choose "Start Windows 98 with CD-ROM Support" when prompted. Once that finishes loading, pop your Windows 98 CD into your CD-ROM drive, and run the setup.

You should be home-free from there.
