installing Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade

    i am currently having problems with WindowsME and i am ready to give up. i tried to format C:\ and i cant get it to work anymore. would it be safe and alright and will it work if i just get the Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade and install it on my computer?

    First of all you should run a test on your system to see that it can handle xp efficiently http://www.pcpitstop.com/xpready/default.asp

    Then if so all you need to do is boot from the xp cdrom, select install, format the partition and clean install xp. It will ask for proof of the upgrade. At this point you slip in the ME cd to prove and follow the propmts to reinsert the xp cd and install.
