Hello! I have been attempting to install Windows XP Professional on my PC. The PC is about 3 to 4 years old. I built it for myself. Hardware is as follows-> 900 Mhz AMD Processor, 256 MB of RAM. 20 GB Western Digital HD. Soyo motherboard K7-VTA (?) forget the model of the motherboard. When I put the Windows XP CD in and let it boot from CD. After copying files and just before I can set the partitions, in the gray at the bottom of the screen it reads "Start Windows." Then just sits there. I left it sit for about 3 hours one time and it did nothing. Wanted to know if anyone has ran into this issue? I followed some suggestions from Microsoft's TechNet articles and from the Knowledge Base and they recommend updating drive controllers drivers. I did that and still not having any luck. Maybe I am out of luck and will need to build a complete system all over again. Could someone let me know if there is hope.
Current OS on the PC is Windows 2000 SP3.
