    Hi

I have a problem with the driver for Intel Management Engine Interface on my Windows 7 64 bit PC. I have been trying to sort this with HP Support but after following all their advice without solving the problem they now suggest a re-install of Windows 7.

What I would like to know is in simple terms, what does the Intel Management Engine Interface do? Is it essential? What are the likely effects of this problem?

My PC seems to be running just fine apart from the error message for the Intel Management Engine Interface. Should I bite the bullet and do a complete re-install or should I just ignore it?

    All advice gratefully received.

    Hi

Sorry about that. Error is "This device cannot start (Code10).

I've almost given up and decided to do a re-install - but would just like to know whether it is really necessary.

pc model would be handy, but anyway seems to differing opinions, but affirmative is deemed as best practice by some.

should show as PCI Simple Communications Controller in device manager
