Interesting Weather Phenomena from 2017

Anyone have interesting weather phenomena they would like to share? Phenomena do not have to be witnessed from first-person point of view.

Here's a phenomenon from my first-person view:

This month (posted July 2017) Hawaii experienced a higher than normal "King tide." Simply defined, "King Tide" is a term used for tide at its highest level. Influenced by the gravitational push/pull of the moon and sun. Elevated ocean levels from global warming also contributes to higher than normal tide levels. News clips below:
