Has anyone seen this behavior before.(It is Reproducable)
Set up Client Wireless Connection.Lan to Router then to Arial then out.All is fine except for this :

Client Connects to Internet no problems there.I have Forwarded the game Ports as required by Client.Made sure the ISP has Port Forwarded from Server Side.

Client plays their on-line game no problems, however, after a while (Could be 1 hour or Half Day,Intermitant) they cannont connect to thier Game Server or Check e-mail.But "Can" surf the net.

What have I done to rectify the Intermittant Problem?

    1) Check all Static IP Address,Sub Net Mask,Default Gateway and prefered DNS Server all is fine.
    2) Right Click and Repair Local Area Connection
    3) Reboot PC
    4) Reboot Router (This is the only action that works and get things back to normal)

But I don't want the Client to be turning the Router on and off everytime they cannot get e-mail or Connect to Game Server.

This is a very strange problem and even my boss can't fix it and he knows "Everything"...lol,
Yes we have replaced the Router....

    Client Specs....

Win XP Home on pretty good Specs
    Router is Netgear 614v3

    Hi There.
One quick idea without diving right into the juicy stuff. Have you checked to see if there is a firmware update for your router? Or have you tried a different router if the firmware doesn't solve anything?

I believe Firmware is not the answer as we have been using these Routers on lots of Jobs and everything seems fine, except for this anomoly.

On line gamers have been switching to Wireless Broadband in this area as this is not a "Broadband Enabled Area" and a Subsidy is provided to these Clients.

So we have done lots of Port Forwarding without probs.

As for switching Routers, yes, we have changed the Router but "Have Not" tried a different Brand as these Routers are supplied by the ISP Themselves.

But,yes this is food for thought and might be worth a try on this one Client.

But what makes it even more frustrating is we recieved an e-mail from the client this morning saying they were on line playing their game for several hours last night without any probs....Go Figure.

I have a feeling there may be an e-mail in my in box on Monday Morning......But we will see.

But saying that I have never come accross a situation were you can surf the net just fine but cannot check e-mail or join a game server.

    Very Frustrating Indeed
