Are you talking about a CMOS battery? Laptop battery?

If its a desktop and you want to swap a CMOS battery, then you just pop it out with your fingers, and put the new one in.

I`m not familiar with that particular machine, but most laptops require some disassembly to change the cmos battery. Go to the mfg website and download the manual if you dont have one, it should give you instructions on where it is and how much you have to take apart to get to it.

I'm not certain about the CMOS batery, but I know for sure the battery that powers the laptop is a Lithium-Ion battery. If that is the one you are talking about, they generally are accessible by turning the laptop with the bottom side up and most have a simple sliding latch which allows one to remove the battery. Its about 8 - 10 inches by about 2 -3 inchs in size. Some, but not many, laptops have more than one battery.

It might help if we knew the make and model of the laptop and for sure which battery you are talking about.
