Internal IDE in external case ?

    will my W/D IDE work in an external case to extract files/folders or do i need to buy a complete external HDD to access files on this drive ?

    As long as the drive works and you get the proper enclosure everything should go smoothly. You should look for an external enclosure that is supports an IDE drive. You can find them on the net pretty cheap.
