Hiya, thanks for the reply's, I am running on windows 98, and I do have anti-virus, the latest version of Panda, and I update this everyday, so I know I don't have a virus...the problem is, it can take up 10 mins to load the browser and it does an illegal operation within minutes and closes, also most of my programmes don't seen to be responding to my commands? it is very frustrating, and I don't know why it is happening??!!any advice now? thanks, PS: I defrag on a regular basis, and empty my temp internet files daily???

Start>programs>accessories>system tools>system information(this is msinfo32)>expand software environment>click start up, this is what you have running when you start your system>edit>select all>edit>copy>paste back here what you have.

Hi mamafleafly,
Ok try unchecking these;
Office Startup
eBot
Find Fast( Mucho hog!!!)
AOL tray icon
Download demon
demon exe
realjukebox
msmsgs
msbb
eZula(Spyware)
Em_Exec(will lose side button functions on mouse)
Real tray
loadqm
webhancher
Some of the antivirus options can be unchecked but that is your option! I would uncheck these 1 or 2 at a time to see if you run into a problem. You should not but as a safeguard!

Hi,

After running Ad-Aware, and having it remove everything that TW56 told you, it's important to reboot!

Afterwards, go to Software add/remove, and remove Webhancer agent and New(dot)Net application there.
Reboot again.

Good luck,

Hi Carmen,

I think we skipped a few steps... :D

Download and install Ad-Aware . This is a program which scans your system for spyware.
After having downloaded AAW, also download the latest Signature file (Reflist.sig) : http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ls/reflist.zip

Unpack it to the Lavasoft Ad-Aware folder in Program Files, and have it overwrite the one that's there.

Then have your drives and registry scanned for spyware, check all found files and reg keys, click continue, and have them removed.
Reboot one last time.

But before you do all that, first uncheck all the stuff we advised you to uncheck in Msconfig/startup, and reboot.

Good luck,

Hi mamafleafly, you get to msconfig buy following doyceJ advice to get to msinfo32.Once on that screen click on tools, then system configuration utility(this is msconfig)once that window opens click on startup tab. That is where you want to follow tony"s and tw56 advice on removeing the programs from starting up.Once you remove all the check marks next to the programs they recommended, click apply then ok.The computer will re-boot.

You can click on the MSCONFIG next to my name and use the alphabet bar from the site to see what the other entries do and if you need or want to keep them.
