Every time I attempt to go on the net, up comes a thing called 'conduit'. Seems to me to be some sort of search engine. The problem is it is painfully slow. I can click on another tab to get Google back and I get normal Google speed and service. What is conduit anyway? I have deleted it once but it still comes back. Is there a way of getting rid of it altogether?

I get the problem both with Chrome and Internet explorer. I found out about this Conduit organisation but the main problem now is how to prevent it coming up every time I go onto the internet. Normally its not a problem as I can click on a new page and get Chrome OK. But when I get referred from another site, I have to wait until conduit loads...eventually. I also know I can copy the URL from conduit and paste it into chrome but this is a bet messy. I would like to get rid of conduit permanently.

Can you see anything related to Conduit in "Add or Remove Programs"?

Some time ago when I first noticed 'conduit' appearing as a search engine, I found it in my programme list. I removed it and all was well of a while then it mysteriously reappeared. I have searched my list of installed programmes but nothing there now. The computer search only indicated conduit was in the recycle bin where I put it months ago. It is still appearing every time I click on Google Chrome. It doesn't appear when I click on Internet explorer.

Please download AdwCleaner. (there's only a french version available that I know of)

Save the program to your desktop.

Run it. (It doesn't need to be installed)

    Do not click on Suppression.

Click on Recherche (Search) and wait for the short scan:

When the scan ends, a report will open in a Notepad window.

Note: This report is also saved to C:\AdwCleaner[R1].txt

    Click inside the Notepad window.

Press CTRL+A on your keyboard to select the whole content.

Press CTRL+C to copy the content.

In your next reply here, press CTRL+V to paste the report.

    Close AdwCleaner.

    Do not click on Suppression.
