internet connection

    this is starting to do my head in does anyone no if there is a connection time out an an internet connection and if so where do i adjust it this, it stays connected for approx 10 mins i can search the net then all of a sudden says unable to connect but msn messanger stays on still tells me i'm connected to network and signal strength is excellent the only way i can get the connection back is by restarting and it allows me to access again but only for a short period tride to see if it was the wireless card,disabled it an plugged a usb connection in still the same i've looked at the settings on my other laptop and compared, everything is the same on each one i feel there is a very simple explanation for this but i cant solve it
    and please if you do have any ideas can you give details in easy terms because this is all new to me and i'm gonna sit here until it,s solved

    check your lease time and expiry by going to start > run > type cmd and press enter. Then type IPCONFIG /ALL and note the Lease obtained and lease expires
