Everytime I open anything that has to do with msn. it gives me an error message, claiming it has to be closed and it gives me options to send a report or not.
Windows update is not working. I have tried everything. But I can not get it to run properly and now it is affecting other programs.
    Please help!!!

I am having constant windows message saying that the explorer has an error and needs to be shut down. It gives me an option to send a report or not. It mostly happens when I try to use anything with Msn. Windows update is not working at all. I tried looking at the folder apparently the cabs is missing. I also tried to fix the internet explorer 6 with tools from the control panel but it was giving me a request for office xp. I do not have that type of office. Now it is affecting my Juno program. It gives me an error and shuts down. What to do??
    Please Help!!!

Try running the IE repair tool. Go to add/remove programs> select internet explorer> you'll get a choice of remove or repair> select repair

I tried that already. But at first it was asking me for an office XP professional cd-rom. Which I have no idea why it asked for that. So I reinstalled office 2000 and tried it again. It says it's fixed but when I reboot and try running. The window from the IE comes up and offers to send report or not. Then has to close the explorer. Now it is affecting my JUno program and apparently outlook is about to blow too.
    Any suggestions?

Did you ever have Office XP installed.
You can also try going to Start > Run and type in "msconfig" without the quotes and click ok.
Click the Startup tab and uncheck msn.
Reboot and see if that stops the errors. If not try this:
    Go to http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/ :

    Download StartupList 1.51

After unzipping the file, run it. You will see a text file displayed. Copy/paste the file directly to a reply. To copy/paste, when the file is open, click Edit>Select All > Edit > Copy and then right click on a reply window here and select "paste".

No, I have never had it. But everything started after I tried to run the office update from internet. I downloaded a new package there. And apparently I messed it all up. By the way I did the config thing. it froze. after I tried to check off two applications I didn't want running at startup but I didn't see anything that said msn. only messenger and office I think.

Try unchecking Office in Msconfig startup, think that's the one that is looking for you msoffice c.d.

THe problem is that the IE 6.0 is not working properly. Everytime I try to use it in almost anything related with MSN like hotmail or windows update. A window with an error message comes up giving me the option to send a report to microsoft or not to send. Then it closes and restarts another IE window. BUt I can't really do much. Let's say I try to open a link the window will open but it will remain blank. I tried repairing it from Control Panel. At first it asked me for the Office XP cd rom. But I uninstalled the office and reinstalled office 2000 professional. After that I attempted to fix IE again, and it supposedly does it. But the problem persists and it does not allow me to go into windows update to try and find something to help me. Nor do I have the option to uninstall it and install either an older version of IE or the same. It simply does not allow me to go beyond a certain point. In addition to this, it has affected my juno program. Making it constantly close with an error message. I had to go to connect over a modem, to avoid having problems. But it still does not allow me to go into the browser or anywhere else.

and something I am not sure is supposed to be there. but it says:

    LoadPowerProfile Rundll32.exe powrprof.dll;LoadCurrentPwrScheme

This is there twice, exactly the same in two different positions.

The two load power profiles belong there.

You might try going to the repair for IE and restore back to your previous windows version, you'll get the last IE back, like IE 4, 5, or 5.5.
See if it works ok, if so, you might try upgrading again.
