Hello. This is my first ever posting.
There are two things which I think might me related.
At start up I get the "Identity Switch Cancelled Panel". This goes away after some minutes.
When I try to open Internet Explorer it opens with displaying the Outlook Express Address Book and not the home page which is Google.UK.
I have read the replies to the "ID Switch" problem but that was related to Outlook Express.
These problems and a number of other small issues all happened overnight.
I have Windows XP Professional. It is a Media Version. I have IE 7 and OE 6.
Hope you can halp because I think these problems are the reason why I can't re-load my HP 1200 series printer which also failed at the same time.
Thanks for taking the time to write me.
Sorry that I have not been back to you before now.
I need a bit more info before proceeding. Please forgive me but I am not just a beginner but I am at the back of the class, standing in the corner.
What is "prefetch"? I get a huge list of files when I go here. Are you really saying that I can delete these? Some have pretty impressive names.
When I go to %temp% I get folders that also look important. I guess %temp% means that these are 'temporary' but I regularly dump my temporary files by using "clean up".
It's really sweet of you to stay around.
I did what you said and deleted prefetch stuff.
What does %temp% mean?
There is a man who lives near-by who has offered to help me with the printer. He says I should forget the CD and down load a driver. this all sounds so complicated.
Dont be afraid to raise question here, I love to answer the problem and help people. Let me know if need further assistance.
Hope this will help you lot !
