In AOL and Internet Explorer, an error message often appears, stating: "Cannot find 'SHDocVwCtl.WebBrowser'. Make sure path or Internet address is correct." This message is under the heading, "Internet Explorer". I am running Windows XP and this message has been quite a nuisance. After the error pops up, I am sometimes disconnected from the Internet. Can somebody please help me fix this problem?

I run Ad-Aware 6 often, so I don't think its a spyware problem. Just in case, here is my HijackThis log file:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

The latter statement sounds kinda serious, as well.

Uh... any help would be very appreciated (I'm trying to keep this new computer in shape)!

i'm having the same problem, i just used some software to remove spys and then after that the same message kept coming up, so anyone know how i can fix it?------------never mind i don't know why but i thought i'd try it one more time before bed and it didn't have the slightest hitch, the message never showed up, so i guess it just found SHDocVwCtl.WebBrowser on it's own. earlier i had tried to reinstall the internet and to replace the things the software deleted but it didn't do anything right away so i don't know if it affected anything or not. hope this helped someone figure out this problem for themself. bye
