i,m having trouble with internet explorer. When we want to connect and double click on the icon , nothing happens. Tried sys restore but could not go back far enough. We have to use favorites to connect. Thought the problem might be IE rather that a virus or a worm ( ran antivir 9 and came up clean ) done a complete reformate and still the problem persists. Downloaded netscape , which works sometimes but also does the same thing. Have run out of ideas and wonder if anyone can give me some sdvice.Thanks.
Will post a HJT report as soon as i run one

Well you can either try to repair Internet Explorer by going to add/remove in the control panel, then click on internet explorer, then on remove and you will be presented with an option to repair .......

Or you can download Firefox from here and try that, great browser ,http://www.mozilla.org/

Put a tick by EACH of the following and have hijack FIX them after closing all open windows except hijack

Delete the following in SAFE MODE

C:\TEMP\SALM.EXE

Firefox is well worth giving a try it takes up very little space ........
