Should I update my Internet Explorer? If so, is it free?
Also, I haven't been able to download pictures from my camera to my desktop. I have a feeling something has to be updated . . . what could it be?
On page 30 under Software Installation on a Windows PC, it states
Windows 98 (including the Second Edition)
Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me)
Windows 2000 Professional
Windows XP Home Edition
Windows XP Professional
Windows 95 and Windows NT cannot be used
Operation is not guaranteed on home-built PCs or on PCs running updated operating system software.
So Windows 7 is not supported. You could try installing the software in compatibility mode. There is no guarantee that it would work because the camera is 12 years old.
My suggestion would be to remove the xD card from the camera and put it into a card reader which you'd put into a USB port on the computer.
You then copy the pictures (or move once you are sure they have been copied correctly) to your computer and use another viewer to see and/or edit the pictures.
Of course any card reader that supports lots of different type cards would also work.
