So I have an interesting problem with Internet Explorer. It will not connect to the Internet and on a stranger note, when I try to watch videos through Windows Media Player on Firefox, it will also not connect. HOWEVER, if I stream videos in the actual player itself (copy-ing and pasting the url) it works fine. So, I know this is just seems very generic, but I can't figure it out. I open it up...IE 7 says it is trying to connect and says it is connecting but just never loads anything up. When Windows Media Player is integrated with Firefox, it just does nothing. Doesn't say it is trying to connect. Doesn't do anything.

Has anyone else had this problem?

your problem could be countless of things that can cause it. If you're willing, try the following:

    1. create a new profile
then login to new profile and check if you have itnernet access
    2. if you get internet access, go to c:\doc & settings and copy: desktop / favorites in to the new profile and delete the old profile
